Airflights Direct Gets Top Flight Card Payment Processing System
Card payment processing system supplier Commidea has won the contract to supply leading low cost airline travel agency Airflights Direct with a unique credit and debit card payment processing system that will significantly reduce their need for costly or complicated hardware and software whilst speeding up authorisation and processing times.Airflights Direct, who provide chartered and scheduled flights and holidays throughout the UK, Europe and America, currently processes transactions at its call centre via PDQ machines, but it was decided that this method was too slow and antiquated. A faster, more reliable method was required and ICP from Commidea offered the right solution.
Developed by Commidea, ICP provides organisations with on-line processing for all major debit and credit card types via Commidea’s servers. Transactions are communicated from the retailer to Commidea’s central servers in real time which, utilising dual X.25 lease lines, obtain authorisation from the bank before returning authorisation results – all in as little as 4 seconds.
This unique method of processing credit and debit cards not only offers one of the fastest methods of authorisation but also significantly reduces the need for retailers to install and operate their own card payment processing system and the associated IT implications such as training, system or communication failure, administration or software updates.
The system is extremely simple to operate, can provide detailed up to the minute financial information and is capable of supporting multiple merchant account processing, corporate purchasing and multi-currency processing. It is also highly versatile, able to handle multiple channels for companies that operate in various market places such as e-commerce, mail order, high street retail as well as call centres.
Commidea’s implementations team will be overseeing the installation of the new two channel ICP system for Airflights Direct configuring it with the company’s own front end system.
ICP, which is managed by Commidea 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is backed up by Commidea’s seven days a week helpdesk facility, offers the latest security measures to ensure total funds transfer confidentiality, and uses high level encryption to secure against interception of card numbers. Commidea’s co-located central servers provide ICP customers with additional resilience to this business critical function.
The ICP system will provide a trouble free, fast and secure electronic funds transfer system that will reduce hardware, software and IT overheads, will vastly improve processing times and will leave Airflights Direct on cloud nine.
