Commidea announce Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode functionality

Commidea’s ICP (Internet Card Processing) card payment processing system is now fully compliant with Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode – the password-protected identity-checking services that is coming into force on the 1st June and takes the risk out of online retail shopping.

Commidea, leaders in ‘cardholder not present’ card processing technology, has implemented the fraud protection tools to comply with Visa and MasterCard’s latest initiative to deliver an increasing level of security for Internet transactions.

ICP, a flexible, reliable and PCI DSS compliant card processing system, already offers retailers all the benefits of high speed, state of the art processing without the costs and problems associated with running in-house systems.

Websites will now automatically redirect online customers to the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode website before they can make a purchase. Payment will only be authorised on entry of a pre-set password to confirm the cardholder’s identity.

Commidea’s Strategic Development Director, Bill Barritt, said, “Our commitment to providing clients with secure, reliable solutions is reflected in our compliance with the Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode initiatives.”

“Banks and card providers have hailed the initiative as an important step in the fight against online card fraud. For merchants, it provides added protection from fraudulent transactions and the costs associated with it – whilst giving end customers the reassurance they need to spend with confidence.”
