Commidea offers Butlins a welcome break

“The install process was very smooth and most importantly the service to our guests was not affected.  The software is very intuitive and our Team embraced the change. It’s rare to install a system without significant teething troubles.”
Ian Cross, Butlin’s Project Manager

With its Butlins Holiday Resorts acting as high traffic retail villages, plus concerns over the cost of staying PCI compliant, the Bourne Leisure Group turned to Commidea for the ultimate in versatile card payment processing solutions.

Working across all three Butlins sites – Minehead, Skegness and Bognor Regis – The Opus Group, Commidea’s EPoS reseller, replaced a total of 85 dated swipe and sign terminals with Commidea’s renowned Ocius for PCs credit and debit card payment processing system. It is a unique ‘plug and play’, Chip & PIN solution that is pre-approved by all major UK banks and uses a Windows PC application to eliminate the need for a traditional terminal, instead requiring only a PIN pad.

Importantly for Bourne Leisure, it is backed by the reassurance of Commidea’s fully managed PCI DSS compliant card processing system. This means Bourne Leisure no longer has to hold all card data on-site or foot the costly IT bills associated with maintaining its own servers.

With a wide range of retail and hospitality outlets that include everything from hairdressers, gift shops, supermarkets, restaurants; it is an incredibly diverse and complex environment to manage. Yet, Ocius for PCs’ flexibility means it could be fully integrated with The Opus Group’s own RM6000 retail management system, which offers Bourne Leisure complete database, sales, inventory, merchandising and reporting functionality.

Furthermore, Commidea’s comprehensive web-based reporting system allows the group to access invaluable data, with transparency right along the chain – from the till through to the back office, then the Resort office and, ultimately, its headquarters.
