YO! Sushi serves up an integrated payment system with Commidea
Commidea, the leading card payment processing solution provider, has announced that it is providing its integrated EPOS payment solution, along with contactless technology, to the largest sushi restaurant chain in the UK, YO! Sushi. The system has been deployed in partnership with Clarity Commerce Solutions, a leading supplier of EPOS solutions for the hospitality sector.
YO! Sushi is using Commidea’s integrated payment solution in 30 of its 40 restaurants to improve throughput and eliminate transaction errors. The integrated system transfers the data from the Clarity Enterprise Suite software to Commidea’s Chip & PIN terminal automatically from the Epos till point, speeding up the process and avoiding potential mistakes made by staff re-typing the details. In addition, YO! Sushi has implemented Commidea’s contactless payment solution, whereby the contactless enabled credit card is simply passed over a reader to make a purchase of £10 or under, without the need to enter a PIN code.
A key reason for YO! Sushi’s decision to upgrade was the improved speed of processing payments, which is an essential part of customer satisfaction in the restaurants offered by the Commidea and Clarity system. Since implementing the new solution, the time taken for a card to be authorised has dropped from one minute to under two seconds.
Further benefits have been achieved by a customised feature developed by Commidea, which allows YO! Sushi’s customers to use the payment terminal to add a gratuity. This has removed the need for serving staff to request a gratuity from customers, and has resulted in an overall increase in tips. In terms of investment, the use of Commidea’s technology has been cost effective, as transactions take place using a broadband connection, so no additional fixed line is required.
